Kent performs on slack key guitar as well as ukulele. In addition to private art gallery and wedding perfomances, he has performed at a variety of restaurants and public events. He performed in SHAVE ICE and was featured in the play KAHUA, presented at the Lyceum Theatre in San Diego. KAHUA featured an original score by George Kahumoku, Jr., and performed by Kent. Past appearances include THREE DRAGONS and SUNDANCE for the Asian Story Theater, as well as the recent ASIAN AMERICAS project. In addition to performing at a variety of special events, he regularly plays for Heali`i’s Polynesian Review, a premier San Diego dance troupe that has opened for the Brothers Cazimero, Ka’u Crater Boys, and other artists. He has conducted slack key workshops for the past four annual San Diego Folk Heritage Festivals.
